Why hire an arborist?
We get asked this question a lot. Sometimes it seems like everyone with a chainsaw and a pickup truck is out there doing tree work. In the State of Connecticut, however, you must be a licensed arborist to perform much of the work that is done on your trees. This includes:
- Pruning of shade trees and ornamentals
- Cabling of hazardous trees
- "Raising" trees to provide more clearance by removing lower branches
- Crown cleaning, where the upper level branches are selectively removed to improve the health and appearance of the tree
- Fertilization and pesticide application applied to to your treescape
- Diagnosis and treatment of tree diseases
Licensed, certified arborists represent the vast minority of individuals and companies soliciting tree work in this state. They are the best of the best in tree care and are the only ones who can advertise, solicit or perform the work mentioned above because of their extensive training.
